Unresponsive Brake

You can take a rag to clean the debris off around the transmission. But make sure to turn off the engine and cool it down completely before cleaning.

Next, check the crankcase if the oil level seems low. Add oil until the ½ quart of the case is filled.

However, if you overfill, the engine might wear out quickly.   

If the fluid seems burnt or contaminated, it is better to drain it completely. We suggest you not add any motor treatment to clean the oil; otherwise, it can cause more damage to the engine.

Rather, change the fluid. Must purge the air from the engine following the manual. This process will help to prevent oil contamination.  

Crankshaft Doesn’t Start

A properly operated crankshaft is the key to sustainable engine performance.  But sometimes, the crankshaft struggles to start in the timecutter series. Mainly it happens when the electrical connections and control switches or levers are not in a good position. 

To fix the issues, disengage the blade control switch. And then set the motion levers in the park position.

Besides, to operate the crankshaft properly, make sure the vehicle battery is charged properly, and the electrical connections are in good contact. If the crankshaft still does not start, the hydro system is probably failing. And you need to replace it.

How do you Change the Hydraulic Fluid on a Toro Timecutter?

At first, you need to place a large container under the drain plug that is located under the fluid reservoir. And unscrew the plug to drain the fluid completely. Now remove the hydraulic fluid filter and fill in the main filter with clean fluid. Then finish off the process by reinstalling the drain plug and starting the engine for 30 seconds to purge air from the fluid.

Is there a Difference between Hydraulic Oil and Hydraulic Fluid?

People often interchange the terms hydraulic fluid and hydraulic oil, but they are quite different. Hydraulic oil does not contain other fluids. However, hydraulic fluid sometimes contains different emulsions, salt solutions, and water.
